A month after announcing its $1.1 billion bid to buy Tumblr, Yahoo! confirmed yesterday that the acquisition is already completed.
Tumblr is a service that allows users to make, see, and share small multimedia posts. This service is popular for the interesting images, many of them animated, produced by its users.
As a part of the acquisition, the founder and chief executive of Tumblr David Karp, together with a team of Tumblr workers, became Yahoo! employees.
"Tumblr is an incredible company. I'm thrilled to officially welcome David and his team to Yahoo!," stated Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer.
