Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics selected on Monday a federal court jury that will decide the merits of Apple's claim that smartphones and tablet computers made by Samsung infringe the patents of the iPhone and the iPad.
The trial taking place in San Jose, California, is part of a series of ongoing lawsuits between the two companies in many different countries around the world.
Today both companies will make their opening statements.
