Surpassing the 443 meters of the Empire State, the One World Trade Center, originally known as the Freedom Tower, has become yesterday the tallest building in New York.
The new skyscraper, still under construction, will replace the twin towers that were destroyed by the attacks of September 11, 2001.
The building is expected to reach its final height in at least another year. Once finished, the tower will be the tallest building in the US and the third worldwide.
The image used in this note is a computer generated view of how the building will look like once finished.
